Hydrosys Presents Hydrogen Refueling Expertise at Hydrogen Hui 2026 in New Zealand

On August 12, 2026, Hydrosys participated in Hydrogen Hui 2026, also known as the New Zealand Hydrogen Council Meeting 2026, held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

As the only Chinese hydrogen equipment company invited to the event, Hydrosys joined government representatives, diplomatic officials, local enterprises, international companies, and industry leaders to discuss the development of New Zealand’s hydrogen industry and opportunities for international cooperation.

Hydrosys International Business Manager Xiaoyu Ma represented the company and delivered a presentation on China’s experience in large-scale hydrogen infrastructure development. The presentation focused on hydrogen refueling station equipment, system integration, and practical approaches to supporting the growth of hydrogen mobility and industrial applications.

Hydrogen Hui 2026 Highlights New Zealand’s Hydrogen Development Plans

Hydrogen Hui 2026 was jointly organized by the New Zealand Hydrogen Council, the Geological Society of New Zealand, and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

The event brought together representatives from government, diplomacy, transportation, energy, infrastructure, and hydrogen technology companies. Attendees included New Zealand Regional Development, Resources and Associate Energy Minister Shane Jones, the Japanese Ambassador to New Zealand, the Acting Head of Delegation of the European Union, the Deputy High Commissioner of Singapore, and representatives from companies including H.W. Richardson Group, Toyota New Zealand, Hiringa Energy, and Fabrum.

The event demonstrated the growing importance of hydrogen in New Zealand’s energy transition and regional economic development.

The New Zealand Hydrogen Industry Road Map 2026–2035 was also introduced during the event. The roadmap sets out a long-term development pathway for hydrogen production, distribution, refueling infrastructure, regional hydrogen hubs, and potential export opportunities.

New Zealand Announces New Support for Hydrogen Projects

In his speech at Hydrogen Hui 2026, Minister Shane Jones outlined the potential role of hydrogen in New Zealand’s energy system.

Hydrogen may support emissions reduction in sectors that are difficult to electrify directly, including:

  • Heavy-duty road transportation
  • Heavy industry
  • Shipping
  • Aviation
  • Industrial processes requiring high temperatures or specific chemical reactions

The New Zealand Government also announced that NZ$30 million would be set aside from the Regional Infrastructure Fund to support projects that contribute to the development of the hydrogen sector.

The funding is intended to help projects mature, attract private investment, strengthen regional capabilities, and support the commercial deployment of hydrogen technologies.

Minister Jones also emphasized that government support can provide the policy and investment foundation, while industry must develop complete hydrogen value chains covering production, distribution, infrastructure, and end use.

This creates opportunities for international hydrogen equipment manufacturers and engineering companies with proven project experience.

Hydrosys Shares Experience in Large-Scale Hydrogen Infrastructure

Hydrosys has delivered more than 200 hydrogen refueling stations in China and has experience in the development of large commercial hydrogen refueling systems with capacities of up to 10 tonnes per day.

The company independently develops and manufactures core equipment, including hydrogen refueling station systems, hydrogen dispensers, hydrogen filling panels, loading and unloading equipment, sequence valve panels, hydrogen storage systems, and station control and safety systems.

Hydrosys’ hydraulically driven piston compressors use an oil-gas isolation design to support hydrogen purity and reliable operation. Modular configurations can be adapted to different inlet pressures, dispensing pressures, flow rates, and station layouts.

The company’s hydrogen refueling solutions support both 35 MPa and 70 MPa vehicle refueling applications. They can also be customized for fixed stations, skid-mounted systems, trailer filling stations, and integrated energy projects.

Hydrosys provides engineering design, equipment integration, installation supervision, commissioning support, site training, maintenance, and technical services throughout the project lifecycle. More information about its hydrogen system service and support is available on the company website.

Supporting Hydrogen Infrastructure in New Zealand

New Zealand’s hydrogen market is still developing, and future projects will require more than individual pieces of equipment. Successful deployment will depend on coordination across hydrogen production, transportation, storage, compression, dispensing, safety systems, local regulations, and end-user demand.

Hydrosys follows a “mature technology plus localized cooperation” approach for overseas markets.

The company provides hydrogen compression and refueling equipment that has been tested through large-scale commercial projects. At the same time, Hydrosys works with local partners to support regulatory adaptation, installation, operation, maintenance, and long-term technical services.

For New Zealand projects, localized cooperation can help address:

  • Local compliance and certification requirements
  • Site-specific engineering conditions
  • Hydrogen supply and transportation arrangements
  • Refueling demand from commercial vehicle fleets
  • Equipment installation and commissioning
  • Spare parts and after-sales support
  • Long-term system operation and maintenance

Hydrosys is prepared to cooperate with New Zealand companies, hydrogen developers, fleet operators, engineering firms, and infrastructure investors to support practical hydrogen projects across the country.

Expanding Hydrosys’ Presence Across Oceania

Hydrogen Hui 2026 provided Hydrosys with an opportunity to better understand New Zealand’s policy direction, infrastructure priorities, and commercial development needs.

With existing project experience in overseas markets including Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, Hydrosys views New Zealand as an important entry point for further development across Oceania.

The company will continue to follow New Zealand’s hydrogen policies, engage with the New Zealand Hydrogen Council, and connect with local partners across the hydrogen value chain.

By combining proven hydrogen refueling technology with localized engineering and service cooperation, Hydrosys aims to support the development of reliable hydrogen infrastructure in New Zealand and contribute to long-term cooperation between China and New Zealand in the hydrogen sector.
